Anand has worked in tech for over 20 years. He has experience in developer platforms, consumer marketplaces, enterprise SaaS businesses and AR/VR. After graduating from MIT, Anand co-founded a virtual desktop company. The company was funded by Y Combinator and Andreessen Horowitz, and it was acquired in 2014.
Before joining Meta, Anand was an early employee at Postmates. He helped the company grow to nearly $1 billion in annualized GMV. As a member of the executive team, he helped the company raise $100 million in Series D funding.
At Meta, Anand led the developer platform work on Workplace by Facebook, an enterprise collaboration product. He helped grow the number of paying users to 7 million subscribers and partnered with companies like Cisco and Microsoft. Anand then joined Meta Reality Labs, which makes Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality devices and Metaverse applications. Anand's current focus is to lead Meta's efforts to expand Virtual & Mixed Reality Content to verticals such as enterprise, personal productivity & collaboration, wellness and fitness, education, creator tools, travel, and retail by working with innovative developers and brands in the ecosystem.
Anand is a Producers Guild of America Innovation Award nominee for his work on Kurzgesagt; Out of Scale, a science and technology enabled virtual and mixed reality educational experience. Outside of work, Anand is an avid runner, tennis player, and advanced scuba diver. He also enjoys watching Japanese movies. He recently started learning to play the drums, but he is not very good at it yet. Anand lives in the Bay Area with his wife and 10-year-old son.
