Mia Hanström, from Aland Island, Finland, consults in youth work and gender equality and is the director for SKUNK - Young Voices in the Archipelago. She has been working with youth since beginning of 1980’s. Mia works in the archipelago, an area with geographical obstacles. She has written over 20 books about youth work especially open youth work. Mia believes that it is a venue for meetings, fellowship, learning and engagement where youth can have fun and feel meaningful. Additionally, it should be based on democratic, empowerment and creativity.
Recently, Mia has been working with a pilot project this spring where youth and leaders have started to learn and together build their own VR youth club.
