Jumping over the Uncanny Valley: Realistic Avatars for Business

Description

Realistic representation of people in digital space is a goal that a lot of companies have been working on for the past years. Ubiquitous capture of person's likeness and avoiding the uncanny valley are challenging problems. We will discuss generation of recognizable avatars from single images as well as from videos. The session will cover the research around the uncanny valley with specific recommendations that can help developers. Specifically, Avatar SDK will show fully automatic realistic motion capture with the level of quality that far exceeds blendshape-based animation. We will also share a stage with Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion GmbH that will talk about the Mercedes-Benz Art Collection represented in their virtual metaverse museum with our realistic avatars.
