Isabelle Verhulst, MBA, MSci, is a final-year psychology PhD candidate at Royal Holloway University of London UK. For her PhD, she investigates the determinants of the sense of presence (‘being there’) in immersive technology (XR) experiences, focusing on users’ responses to XR experiences in real-world settings. She has 15 years of previous international industry experience in consumer marketing and new product R&D. She has published and presented her research at international conferences, peer-reviews articles for journals, and holds Management and Psychology degrees. When she is not involved in XR user experiences, she enjoys adventure travel.
