Matt Miesnieks is renowned as one of the AR industry's thought leaders through his company building and influential writing. Miesnieks built AR system prototypes at Samsung, and had a long executive and technical career in mobile software infrastructure before jumping into AR back in 2009.

He led business growth at Layar, one of the first AR startups, founded AR gaming startup Dekko, and In 2016 joined as an investment partner at the first early stage augmented reality fund Super Ventures where one of the first AR Cloud startups 6D.ai was incubated. Miesnieks took the helm as co-founder and CEO until it was acquired by Niantic in 2020.

His work as 6D.ai's CEO significantly influenced augmented reality, as he spearheaded the creation of a real-time 3D world map to seamlessly merge AR with the user’s physical surroundings, pushing AR towards more natural,interactive experiences. Through Super Ventures, he has nurtured AR startups, and fostered consistent innovation within the AR landscape.
