Description

For augmented reality (AR) to be broadly adopted across industries and embraced by consumers, AR experiences need to be context-aware and to intelligently interact with the real world. Unity’s Mixed and Augmented Reality Studio (MARS) addresses this challenge.

Join us for a walk-through of the MARS proxy-based workflow. We’ll cover a breadth of AR experiences across industries, discuss how to take full advantage of complex real-world environments, and share how to design fallbacks to allow experiences to function even in worst-case AR scenarios. Throughout the session, we'll explore core MARS workflow concepts and AR authoring philosophies.

In this talk we will share advice for building instinctual interactions for HoloLens that leverage fully articulated hand tracking, eye tracking, and spatial awareness. We will then show how to apply those principles in using Mixed Reality Toolkit (MRTK), a cross-platform UX toolkit for Unity that makes it easy to build user interfaces for Mixed Reality on a wide range of devices.

Augmented reality is transforming our mobile devices into more interactive and immersive tools. Developing AR technology is a very challenging task that involves highly specific skills in both computer vision and computer graphics. This poses a problem that slows down the adoption of AR, as many small companies might not have the resources to develop their AR ambitions. ARGear is a new AR SDK that makes it easier to develop AR applications so that your apps can keep up with the industry and maybe even accelerate the adoption of AR. Join SeersLab’s Jacob Morton as he demonstrates just how easy it is to create your own mobile AR application using ARGear.
