Marjan Moghaddam is an award-winning, pioneering, digital artist/animator, who lives and works in NYC. She works primarily with 3d CG/animation for the screen, net, print, sculpture, installation, mixed reality, AR and VR. Her work has been widely exhibited at international museums, galleries and festivals such as Siggraph, and she is the recipient of numerous awards of excellence in digital art. Marjan’s groundbreaking digital art has been funded by the Rockefeller Fund, The NY Department of Cultural Affairs, and Brooklyn Arts Council and her pioneering, early, internet-based, 3d CG and animated avatar art was sponsored by Prodigy Inc. in 1996. She has been hailed as a “Trailblazer in the world of Digital art” by the Herald Tribune, the “first lady of Animated painting” by The Examiner, and “The Digital Hijacker by Conde Nast Love magazine.Her recent collection of #arthacks, have gone viral with millions of views on top art channels on social media, been shortlisted for the International Digital Sculpture prize, and exhibited as Augmented Reality at museums such as the Smithsonian and Ulm in Germany. She was the official Adobe Augmented Reality Artist in Residence for Project Aero. Her print and sculpture AR activations have been exhibited at numerous international galleries and she was most recently in several pavilions of the upcoming Wrong Digital Art Biennial. She is a Tenured, Full Professor of CG at LIU/Brooklyn, and immigrated to the US from Iran in 1979 as a refugee.
