Dr. Christoph Leuze is the founder of Nakamir, a startup creating training and guidance solutions for the factory of the future leveraging Augmented Reality. During his work at Stanford as director of the Stanford Visualization lab, Dr. Leuze taught the first Stanford Medical Mixed Reality class and has been leading the research on guiding medical procedures and automatizing AR content generation by recording how users interact with the real world using a novel sensor-fusion approach.
He has received multiple prizes for his work including the IEEE VR People's choice award for the best AR demo, the TechConnect Award for one of the most promising technological innovations for national security, the prize for the best 3D video at the Ars Electronica Art and Science Festival. Before coming to Stanford, Dr. Leuze has studied at Leipzig, Germany and Chiba University, Japan and received the prestigious Otto Hahn medal of the Max Planck Society for his PhD thesis on medical data visualization.
