Description

"Vibe Coding for XR" explores the emerging paradigm of AI-driven development to accelerate XR application creation. This hands-on demonstration showcases how developers can leverage tools like Cursor and Windsurf to transform natural language descriptions into functional XR applications. We'll illustrate complete workflows for both VR and AR experiences, from proper IDE setup to deployment, with emphasis on rapid prototyping techniques. Attendees will learn best practices for prompt engineering, troubleshooting AI-generated code, recognizing limitations, and practical strategies for enhancing AI output. Join us to discover how vibe coding is democratizing XR development while dramatically reducing production time.

What is Vibe Coding?

Vibe coding is a revolutionary approach to software development coined by Andrej Karpathy in February 2025 (!), where developers "fully give in to the vibes, embrace exponentials, and forget that the code even exists". This method leverages advanced AI coding assistants like Claude Sonnet or Grok to generate functional code from natural language descriptions or voice commands. Developers focus on high-level guidance rather than manual coding, allowing for unprecedented development speed. As one developer explained, "I jump from Sonnet 3.5 to 4.0 and now to 4.5 depending on nuances I know those models have". Vibe coding particularly excels in rapid prototyping scenarios where speed of implementation outweighs code optimization concerns.

Additional Notes:

My plans to create a microsite where audience members can download the materials I present, including configuration files and prompts.
