In this session, we will showcase several games, community prototypes, and Meta samples that leverage Passthrough Camera Access (PCA) in innovative ways. We’ll introduce you to current engine integrations, including Unity, Unreal, and Native, and outline the requirements for using these features. Additionally, we’ll review frequently asked questions from developers, discuss current limitations, and explore what the future of the Passthrough Camera Access API may hold.
To provide a more hands-on experience, we will also cover the basics of building a Unity application that utilizes PCA, giving you a solid foundation to start exploring this technology.
Passthrough Camera Access is now available to developers publishing apps to the Horizon Store that require direct access to the front-facing cameras on Quest 3 and Quest 3S. This feature unlocks a wide range of new use cases, such as detecting and tracking objects in the environment, or scanning QR codes by combining PCA with third-party solutions, opening up exciting possibilities for your next project.
