Wadooah Wali (she / her) is a visionary Co-Founder, Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Producer at New Canvas, an award-winning XR studio that combines innovation with dynamic storytelling and social impact.
At New Canvas, she drives the strategic vision to help create immersive experiences that captivate global audiences. New Canvas was one of 13 companies selected for Acme Innovation and Warner Bros. Discovery’s Collider On The Lot inaugural program last fall and she pioneered the partnership with Elliot Page and PAGEBOY Productions to co-produce its newest VR series, When Brooklyn Was Queer, based on the acclaimed book of the same name. The project was recently one of 16 projects selected to participate in the 2024 Venice Immersive Production Bridge during La Biennale.
A true media influencer, her 20+ career expertise spans across traditional and disruptive media platforms that include pivotal roles at WarnerMedia, Fullscreen, podcast leader Midroll Media/EarWolf (acquired by Scripps Media) and Demand Media (acquired by Leaf Group).
As an award-winning, content creator, she’s passionate about connecting audiences with stories via writing, directing and producing various projects that span TV, film, video, podcasts, XR and beyond. As a change agent, Wadooah is passionate about DEIB, connecting people through information, empathy and social good. She currently serves as an advisory board member for GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ+ Entertainment Critics and is a co-founder and advisor for Revry.TV, the trailblazing queer streaming network. She also previously served as Co-Founder and Co-Chair of TurnOUT, the LA-based chapter of WarnerMedia's LGBTQIA+ group. Her insights are sought after in judging and speaking roles at prestigious festivals and events, including VidCon Australia, the Alliance of Women Directors and STARZ’s #TakeTheLead initiative and The Atlantic’s Progress Summit.
