Tanvi Agrawal (they/them) is an MBA candidate at UCLA Anderson, specializing in technology, entertainment, and entrepreneurship. With a background in B2B software sales, they have recently returned to XR to dedicate their business acumen, creativity, and technical expertise to shaping the immersive entertainment industry.
Tanvi is the founder of RealityCheck, a mixed reality content and engagement platform that helps immersive entertainment seekers discover experiences while ensuring independent artists retain maximum value from their ticket sales.
Tanvi began their journey at UC Berkeley, where they double-majored in American Studies and Theater (Directing), and served as Creative Director for XR @ Berkeley, leading AR animation and VR film projects. They also wrote an honors thesis on augmented reality, fueling their passion for XR technology.
Tanvi has experience in producing, project management, and product management for XR experiences, working for companies like Glimpse Group, Agile Lens, and Ferryman Collective, where they contributed to a show that premiered at Venice Film Festival and SXSW. They’ve participated in XR hackathons at Stanford and MIT, where they competed and received a competitive art grant to exhibit an AR theater piece.
Tanvi is a board member and original plays director at PlayGround, a national playwriting incubator. They are also a content creator on Instagram (@tanvixreality), reporting on XR and immersive entertainment news. Currently, they are founding UCLA XR, to create Southern California’s first student-led XR hackathon. Tanvi regularly participates in events like AWE, the Immersive Summit, XR Women, NYVR, and XR Guild meetups.
