Thad Starner
Technical Lead on Google Project Glass and Wearable Computing Pioneer

Thad Eugene Starner is a pioneer of wearable computing as well as human-computer interaction, augmented environments, and pattern recognition. A founder of the Contextual Computing Group at Georgia Tech’s College of Computing and one of the original members of the MIT Wearable Computing Project, Starner has been a driving force in the development of wearable technology. 


Starner was also the Technical Lead/Manager on Google's Project Glass wearable computing project, and is well known as a strong advocate for wearable computing. His work is deeply rooted in the integration of computers into daily life, with one of his prominent research focuses being the involvement of wearable computing with American Sign Language (ASL).
