Iris Jumbe has over two decades of experience in marketing and PR communications, starting as an international marketing consultant in Shanghai. She has developed global communication strategies for major INGOs, UN agencies, and national governments. In 2016, Iris founded Philstem Communications, running it until 2019. She then led global communications for mySugr, the world's most downloaded diabetes app. Her expertise in marketing is complemented by experience in diverse areas such as communications for COVID-19 prevention, communications for countering terrorist narratives, and communications for addressing violence against children.
Iris presented her paper, “How We Used Gamification to Successfully Promote COVID Prevention Practices in Myanmar,” at the 2022 World Social Marketing Conference. Currently, she leads Marketing and Communications for the Global Collaboration Village. The Village is the world’s first extended reality platform to unite decision makers for public-private cooperation. It uses immersive technology to amplify empathy, insight, and engagement, helping to catalyze action against persistent global problems through impactful, real-world solutions. the Global Collaboration Village is a World Economic Forum initiative, in partnership with Accenture, and powered by Microsoft Mesh.
