In 2021, household name brands invested hundreds of millions into virtual real estate and NFTs. This initial boom in investment volume reached a peak in January 2022, and then was followed by an immediate bust. When one of Marriott’s flagship hotels, the Westin Seattle, began researching metaverse platforms, they didn’t fall for the hype and buy empty plots of virtual real estate. Instead, they partnered with one of Meta’s fastest growing virtual worlds, Immerse, to create a user-centric metaverse experience.

In this discussion, learn from Westin Seattle’s Head of Marketing and Immerse’s CEO, Quinn Taber as they share their experience partnering to create the first hotel in the metaverse. As well, they will share why they went against the grain and decided not to sell NFTs but instead focused on the real world, inviting virtual metaverse visitors to book real hotel rooms at their iconic hotel.
