Scott Stein has been an award-winning writer at CNET for 16 years, covering the beats of an ever-changing tech landscape across computers, phones, wearables, gaming and AR/VR. He’s reviewed and worn headsets and glasses from Google Glass onwards, experiencing the launches of hardware ranging from Magic Leap, Microsoft’s HoloLens, all the iterations of Oculus, and far more. He’s appeared on TV and podcasts ranging from CBS to CNBC to No Proscenium, Voices of VR, and many more. Previous to CNET, Scott worked for Sony Online Entertainment and got a theater MFA at UCSD, writing plays about the impact of social tech on the worlds we live in. His most recent play, Scott Stein’s Last Play, explores generative AI and memory and is currently in development.
