Matthew Wren is a veteran solutions architect and technology prototype developer. He founded VRAR Chicago in 2017 as a consultancy assisting organizations of all sizes with strategy, design, and implementation of XR solutions across industries. His specialties include rapid evaluation of XR use cases using VRAR Chicago's proprietary Powers Framework, and immersive technology solution design focussed on sustainability, deployment, and scalability that will provide positive return on investment within the first year.
In 2017, Matthew founded "The Next Evolution” educational event series, which is the longest running monthly XR event series in the United States. He has been a VR enthusiast for over twenty years, professionally developing VR & AR applications for commercial clients since 2016. Matthew is a prior Chicago Chapter President of the VR/AR Association, a technology adviser to Loyola University Chicago’s Ignite Lab for Entrepreneurship, an entrepreneurship advisor to Illinois Institute of Technology’s Kaplan Institute for Innovation, and an XR technology guest lecturer at DePaul University's College of Communication. In July of 2018, Matt led several local groups to host the first Chicago XR Summit, showcasing 25 Chicago based VR and AR companies to over 300 attendees. Matt was previously the Founder, President, and CTO of BUNDLAR, the world's first no-code Enterprise Content Management Platform for Augmented Reality, which he took from concept in 2018 to patented software solution and functional online platform that in 2022 was supporting customers including Microsoft and the US Air Force.
Since 2016, Matthew has supported over 70 implementations of XR solutions for clients ranging from startups to enterprises, city, state, and federal government organizations, emergency services, the US military, schools, universities, and museums. He works across hardware and software, with experience designing and packaging VR and AR solutions for rapid deployment into difficult implementation environments. Mathew is a common contributor to emerging technology segments on WBBM NewsRadio in Chicago, and a regular guest speaker on immersive technology implementation and strategy at industry events and conferences.
