Welcome back to AWE Talks, our series that revisits the most engaging content from AWE’s catalog of conference sessions. Now that AWE Asia 2023 has concluded, we have a fresh batch of sessions to dive into.
This week, we zero in on one of AI's promises: to streamline and democratize content creation. How will it specifically apply to games and 3D assets? Anything World's Sebastian Hofer breaks it down.
See the summarized takeaways below, along with the full session video. Stay tuned for more video highlights each week and check out the full library on awe.live and AWE’s YouTube Channel.
Speakers
Sebastian Hofer: Co-founder & Creative Director, Anything World
– The intersection of AI and XR continues to expand in applicability and opportunity.
– Among other things, AI is being tapped to streamline and automate 3D creation.
– This takes the principles of generative AI and applies them to 3D content & assets.
– The idea is to empower developers and creators with easy 3D content generation.
– Though not a new concept, Anything World has innovated new ways to do this.
– For one, its library of 3D models are AI animated, saving time with manual rigging.
– A newer feature lets users rig animations for their existing static 3D models.
– An AI world builder meanwhile lets users create environments using voice prompts.
– Much of the above is available as SDKs that plug into Unity and Unreal Engine.
– But AI doesn't just come into play in the creation of 3D content but also its use.
– In other words, users can control 3D models through voice (e.g., "jump", "run").
– This can be valuable in gaming and education to prompt animations on demand.
– All the above will continue to develop as AI and XR continue to collide.
