Generative AI is causing disruption in every aspect of the media and entertainment industry, but it has somewhat passed over the XR community (so far). This talk will dive into the various tools that can be added to almost any XR production for generating assets and driving realtime animations and interactions. There are already AI-powered tools inside Unity and Unreal, but there are also lesser-known options that are easy to use either standalone or via integration into a game engine or a digital content creation package to create aspects of an XR experience. This presentation will focus on categories of tools vs. workflow for specific tools in order to provide a “where to start” guide for creators eager to see how AI could offer a force multiplier for their teams to produce higher quality XR experiences without increasing budgets or extending schedules.
