Howard Kaplan, Ph.D. is the Director of the Advanced Visualization Center, which is part of the University of South Florida Information Technology department. The AVC offers development for research grants, and courses. AVC facilities include: two 3D printing labs, an ultra-high-resolution visualization auditorium, and an advanced technology lab with immersive AR, XR and AI technologies. Based on Dr. Kaplan’s experience with a vast array of technologies he has managed the development and implementation of many academic and research projects for USF and partners such as Veterans Affairs, and DOD, ranging from devices design, interactive VR learning applications to AI simulations and chatbots, on subjects such as Literacy, and Medical Training. He also holds multiple patents for simulation technologies.
