02:30 PM - 03:00 PM
My team meets weekly in a virtual environment we are building, which is designed to build effective virtual teams. We improve the experience, and the experience improves us, providing feedback on our interpersonal skills. We are agile people, with a mission to help organizations thrive in our "4D" world of work as teams are increasingly diverse, disbursed, digital and dynamic. XR with AI can enable "learning in the flow of work" to help forge inclusive leaders and future ready organizations.
05:30 PM - 06:00 PM
Recent EEG studies of face to face collaboraion have found that brain activity can synchronize. This produces a feeling of greater connection and better performance on collaborative tasks. In the talk we report on the first brain synchronization studies conducted in AR and VR, and how AR and VR could be used to increase synchronization. This research points to a future were AR/VR technology could be used for new forms of communication and creating empathy between people.
07:00 PM - 08:00 PM
The annual Auggie Awards have been the most recognized industry AR & VR awards show in the world since 2010. Now in its 10th year, the Auggies continue to showcase the best of the best in augmented and virtual reality. Winners will be presented with a prestigious Auggie Award live on stage.
05:00 PM - 06:00 PM
Like so much else in technology and culture, the worlds of gaming and entertainment are under increasing ethical scrutiny from press and public alike. In XR entertainment, the unique characteristics of immersive media add extra layers of complexity and subtlety to ethical questions. XR entertainment creators have a responsibility to understand and address issues including privacy and safety, volition and agency, trust and truthfulness, and nuanced problems of representation. Our panelists will take a thoughtful view of these ethical dimensions with a special focus on potential solutions and best practices.
04:00 PM - 05:00 PM
In this talk Jan-Erik will present his vision of how AR Cloud tecnology can enable a digital upgrade of our shared physical reality and how that holds the promise of enhansing every aspect of our digital lives you can imagine and beyond. The AR industry needs this technology to be able to realize what futurist and sci-fi authors have been envisioning for the last few decades and what the speaker himself has been dreaming of since his teenage years.
On the flip side of the great potential that AR Cloud holds for good, there is also the real risk of falling into "Black Mirror" scenarios. If we are careless about this technology things might descend towards a digital prison rather than a digital upgrade. Already we see how Shenzhen, China is using exponential technology to monitor and track every person everywhere - the invasiveness of this practice will become much worse if or when the authorities deploy AR-Cloud technology. Towards the end of his talk, Jan-Erik will also say a few words about how Open AR Cloud is bringing together people from all over the world to build an open and interoperable spatial computing ecosystem for the benefit of all. By bringing together the best minds we have a fighting chance to avoid the pitfalls and usher in a great new era!
02:30 PM - 03:00 PM
Most software developers today have “mobile-first” tattooed somewhere on their bodies because we humans currently explore our world primarily through portable devices. While the internet has caught up with this behavior, the physical world has not. Streets signs, airports, and TVs could all do a better job delivering mobile and digital moments.
Geenee helps mobile devices see the world around them through lightweight and robust image recognition that triggers contextual content at the moment of relevancy, from ticket sales and film trailers to augmented reality stories and storefronts.
Geenee provides rich mobile results through a scalable, web-based platform with no downloaded app required. We’re working to make accessing contextual content directly from the world around you easy, rewarding, and meaningful.
04:00 PM - 05:00 PM
nreal’s applications are now ready to be developed to run directly from your mobile device, empowering not only immersive AR and MR apps but your native android ones as well. Contents through glasses have never been more accessible to its consumers.
Kicking off with the ol’ hello world, we will explore ways to migrate mobile AR and native Android apps to nreal’s MR environment.
05:15 PM - 06:00 PM
Although most Augmented and Virtual Reality news is focused on mobile and glasses form factors, XR can be so much more. There are technologies that extend reality such as holograms, projection mapping, sound, AI, and IoT, that go beyond the traditional definition of XR. This panel will discuss the consumer possibilities of these engaging form factors.
09:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Technology support service providers typically maintain thousands of products to provide the highest possible level of service to clients. Delivering such a high-dimensional service necessitates maintaining a significant technical force who have been trained on a wide range of products. Given the increasing product portfolio and the pressure for technicians to cover multiple domains equally effectively, training these technicians becomes a major impediment for service providers. In this talk, we describe our experience of building and deploying a scalable AR-driven solution to address this problem.
03:30 PM - 04:00 PM
AR experiences for consumers, including gaming and other immersive entertainment, are continuing to evolve to become more engaging. This conversation will cover the current and future applications for AR, including mobile gaming, and storytelling.
05:00 PM - 06:00 PM
In this talk, we will discuss how Rokid creates a seamless AR experience from two aspects: ergonomic design(hardware) and systematic UI/UX design(software).
The presentation will also share the insights of the entire product development cycle of Rokid Glass: from crafting product appearance with strict constraints, deploying user interfaces on a new and unique AR device, to the case studies and progressive design of real implementations.
The talk offers a glimpse of the future AR design methodology by demonstrating the superpower enabled by design thinking.
Rokid Glass is an AI-enabled, all-in-one AR glasses already in mass production, with seamless user experience which widely adopted by the industry.
10:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Technology experts will highlight the impacts of AR/VR/AI/ML to industry, observations to the future, and the role of IEEE in this space.
01:30 PM - 02:00 PM
Augmented Reality has been touted as a transformative technology for education and the classroom experience. However, going from an idea to deployment in the classroom in today’s education system requires a variety of design decisions, curriculum considerations and expertise in classroom dynamics. This talk will walk attendees through the process of creating and deploying Genius XR - an Augmented Reality iPhone/iPad app that includes a library of 3D vocabulary lessons for ELL students and a XR Makerspace with creative collaboration tools for teachers and student-driven learning. Topics discussed will include design considerations for accessibility and adoption in the classroom by both students and teachers, standard curriculum requirements for AR applications and lessons/best practices learned from user-testing with teachers and students.
02:30 PM - 03:00 PM
Conversation about the challenges that the industry has in terms of data analytics (standards, cybersecurity, data management protocols, etc) knowing that content, interactions and transactions will be creating data outside of "computers", but everywhere.
