XR and the industrial space seem to be the perfect fit. Let us show you how to leverage industrial XR in complex work environments that empowers workers to perform tasks more efficiently, quicker and safer. We want to share our insights on elevating the XR user experience based on multi-devise support, reality (from AR to MR to VR) mode variability and real-time interpretation. Lastly, how we aim to metaversify the way people collaborate at the enterprise level.

With Reality Faucet, Pantomime has created some of the first physically based augmented reality experiences -- where objects seem real because momentum, friction, collision sounds, gravity, dynamic lighting, shadows conspire to make us believe virtual objects are real. In particular, the 3D LiDAR sensors in modern iPad Pro and iPhone Pro devices is enabling a new frontier in consumer augmented reality -- where users can easily reach in with popular mobile devices.
Levitt will talk about this emerging frontier, how to have the best experiences with interactive LiDAR, and how to leverage this magical new level of realism with your own physically realistic content.

The pandemic disrupted prospective students and their families from the college campus visit, one of the most impactful experiences for those students and their families. A meaningful visit experience helps students imagine their lives at a university setting and sets the stage for students’ long-term success. Yet what happens when in-person visits and tours with guides can’t happen?
Close to 70k people visit the University of Texas at Austin every year, consisting largely of prospective students and their family and friends. In early 2020, the University of Texas at Austin opened their new Welcome Center, yet no one came because we were all at home. In partnership with The Texas Immersive Institute, UT Admissions wanted to better connect with digital first families. With the use of 8th Wall WebAR, Texas Immersive faculty and students reimagined the prospective UT Austin Longhorn experience. This panel will offer insights into the project's experience from the personalized AR Mailer sent to the home, to extending the on-campus tour with a location-based AR game, and an opportunity to capture the memory with an AR photo booth at the Welcome Center.

FXG (tech side) and Hope for Haiti (non-profit side) created a VR app for social impact in Haiti. We have replicated a Haitian school with interactive elements . The experiential app is modeled off one of Hope for Haiti's partner schools in rural Haiti, along with a recreated landscape and environment. Users can explore the three room school, interact with different elements such as a well, chalkboard, flag pole, and other exploratory features. The space is designed to not only provide an engaging and hands-on experience, but also to give users an alternative (and more positive) perception of Haiti, by building an emotional connection to the environment, through the immersive powers of virtual reality technology. There is a dedicated classroom that contains multimedia elements to highlight the work of Hope for Haiti in the community through video, photos, audio, and engaging vignettes. An event was curated inside of the space, alongside an online, NFT auction, featuring donated artworks by various artists and public features, with the goal of raising 50k USD to provide 7,000 children across Haiti with the resources, supplies, and clean water that they need in order to have a successful school year.

Construction is a wasteful industry ripe for improvement: half of the energy consumed by buildings is wasted, and half of construction costs are waste. This is exacerbated by a chronic shortage of skilled construction labor. Our attempts to mitigate these three crises in sustainability, affordability, and equity lead us to seek new solutions to enable more effective decision-making as we digitize our construction processes. Augmented Reality enables our construction installation crews to leverage spatially-contextual data just-in-time and just-in-place, at the point of action where and when it matters most.
We will discuss a recent joint pilot project by McKinstry and Spectar, in which we used immersive AR hardware and software to support several AR use cases and objectively measure their impact upon commercial construction. In addition to empowering our construction managers to increase engagement with the owner and other project stakeholders, we leveraged AR to improve installation and quality control. Our AR-based hanger installation effort is especially noteworthy, as it enabled us to address sustainability with paperless construction, affordability by significant reducing time to complete, and equity by empowering lower-skilled labor crews. Finally, we have identified other new use cases for AR, supporting prefabrication in the shop and facility operations and maintenance.

Red 6, a technology at the forefront of synthetic training, was founded on the vision to revolutionize training for our warfighters by creating CARBON, the world’s first outdoor synthetic training environment. Using a combination of Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence, CARBON allows real fighter pilots, in real airplanes, to visually fly and train against any synthetic threat. Ultimately it will scale to connect all warfighters, across all domains into a joint augmented battlespace, thereby ushering in a new paradigm in training for our military. This vision is fast becoming a reality and Red 6 is in the fight for the future of our national security.

There’s a massive paradigm shift in how the world experiences, communicates and consumes media. Society today has a deep psychological need to interact and communicate with the everyday world, craving immersive entertainment experiences. This is a motivating reason as to why the entertainment industry is integrating MR in gaming, sports, theme parks, and more. As we look ahead to the future of the entertainment industry, users will truly be able to experience the everyday world without headgear or 2D displays creating a separation from live experiences.
In this session, Jon Karafin, CEO and founder of Light Field Lab, will speak to the next generation of display technology – a true dimensional holographic experience indistinguishable from reality. Going beyond 2D displays and flat screens, the future of entertainment is dimensional holographic displays that escape the screen to create hyper-believable, real-world interactions. The future is all about immersive media and technology from cinemas and live theaters to theme parks and gaming centers – ultimately every display will be a true holographic experience.

A few years ago, a client told us we had a year to become ISO27001 compliant to continue working with them. As a small creative agency with a one-man I.T. department, we had no clue what ISO certification was, let alone how to achieve it. What followed was a journey to the center of the cybersecurity sun that culminated in an entire overhaul of not only our security but project management policies and procedures. ISO27001, GDPR, SOC, Privacy Shield, MPA Content Security, and this list goes on and on. More and more, enterprise clients are asking for these certifications from their suppliers and vendors. In this presentation, I take you through what these different certifications mean to you and why they matter, how to start your cybersecurity journey, and how your team can keep creativity and innovation moving when it seems security protocols only want to slow you down. No I.T. or security experience required.
